01.Summary

Senior Analysts at UG UAE produce client-facing assessments that inform investment, security, and operational decisions across the firm's coverage regions. The role is consultative and authorial: analysts own a portfolio of recurring clients, defend their methodology, and publish under their own name.

02.What you will do

  • Lead recurring assessments for a defined book of clients, including political risk briefs, threat assessments, and bespoke deep-dive reports.
  • Own coverage of a regional portfolio, maintaining a defensible source network and a current view of the operating environment.
  • Produce Methods Notes that document collection, sourcing, and analytical reasoning to a publishable standard.
  • Brief clients directly, including at C-suite and board level, and absorb feedback into the next analytical cycle.
  • Mentor junior analysts on tradecraft, source evaluation, and writing.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations and Cyber & Investigations colleagues on multi-discipline engagements.
  • Contribute to firm-wide editorial standards and review the work of peers.

03.What we look for

  • Five or more years of analytical experience in a government, multilateral, consultancy, journalism, or in-house intelligence setting.
  • Working proficiency in at least one regional language relevant to the assigned coverage area; reading proficiency in a second is preferred.
  • Demonstrated open-source intelligence methodology, including structured analytic techniques and source-evaluation frameworks.
  • Published or briefable record of analytical product. Candidates should expect to submit two writing samples.
  • Comfort writing under deadline for a demanding readership.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Sound judgement under conditions of incomplete information.

04.Vetting

All offers are conditional on successful background screening conducted in accordance with the law of the candidate's hiring jurisdiction. Screening includes verification of prior employment and education, professional-history confirmation through independent referees, criminal-record checks, sanctions and adverse-media review, and conflict-of-interest disclosures. Analysts with access to confidential client material are subject to enhanced and recurring screening.
